Troubleshooting

"Icecat is not licensed"

This tenant has neither a licence nor a running demo for module ICECAT. The message leads to the module list: choose Register Demo there or enter the licence, then set Enabled.

"Icecat is not activated in merchantCENTRAL"

The module is switched on on the setup card, but the module registry does not list it as active and licensed — and the background run asks the registry. Open the merchantCENTRAL modules, switch Icecat on there, and check the demo or licence. The setup card's switch has since written through to the registry; this state practically only occurs in older installations.

"The Icecat account is incomplete"

The user name or one of the two tokens is missing. Both tokens are required — the content token even if you only fetch texts at first. Both fields must show Stored; Test Connection confirms the account with a real request.

The connection test fails

The error message carries Icecat's answer. Check the spelling of the user name (shop name) and re-enter both tokens — your account at icecat.com shows the valid values. "Test article not found", on the other hand, is not a failure: account and tokens were accepted.

"Icecat could not be reached"

A technical error, not a missing match. Check the app's permission for outgoing HTTP calls, the availability of the Icecat service, and the validity of the tokens. After replacing a token: Reset Errors in the queue.

Many items show "No Match"

A result, not a defect. The coverage report shows whether single brands are affected (then Full Icecat may be missing) or the whole assortment (then GTINs and manufacturer part numbers are missing). Also check the spelling of the manufacturer code: Icecat compares brands case-insensitively, but ZEBRA TECH will not find what is listed under Zebra.

The shop still shows the old text

The built-in order of precedence: your own marketing text or a channel-specific override wins over the Icecat text. For the Icecat text to appear, your own description must be empty.

An item did not get an item picture

Either it already had one — which is never replaced —, or Import Images is off, or Icecat delivered no gallery. The Images Taken column on Icecat Content tells you which case applies.

The queue does not move

  1. Does the job queue entry exist? Schedule Background Run on the setup card
  2. Is the module active and licensed? A silent run is intentional for an inactive module
  3. Are the entries waiting out a delay? The Next Run column in the queue shows it
  4. Process Now names the concrete reason when nothing runs

Can I shut the module down temporarily?

Yes: switch Enabled off. Every entry point exits immediately, the background run stays silent, and sales channels no longer receive Icecat texts — cached ones included. The data is kept; switching back on restores everything as it was.
