Why License Verification?

merchantCENTRAL uses a modular licensing model: Each connector (Amazon, DHL, Jarltech, etc.) is licensed individually. This way, you only pay for the modules you actually use.

The license verification ensures that:

  • Only activated modules are active
  • Demo periods are correctly maintained
  • Usage data is collected for fair billing

How Does It Work?

  1. Set up once — You enter your License Key in the License Setup or register for a free demo.
  2. Automatic verification — In the background, merchantCENTRAL validates the license against the server every 24 hours. You won't notice anything — the process runs entirely in the background.
  3. Daily heartbeat — In parallel, an anonymized heartbeat with usage data (order counter, sync counter) is sent to the license server.
  4. Offline tolerance — If the license server is unreachable, you continue working with the last known status for up to 7 days. Only after 14 days without server contact is access blocked.

License Types

Module Status

Each module (Amazon, DHL, Jarltech, etc.) has its own status:

Status Meaning Color in BC
Active Fully licensed and ready to use Green
Demo In trial period (with expiration date) Yellow
Expired Demo period has ended Red
Blocked Deactivated by the provider Red

Sandbox Environments

Sandbox = Always Free

In sandbox environments (test environments), all modules are available without restriction. No usage data is collected for billing. This allows you to test new configurations and updates risk-free.
