DPD AT Products

DPD Austria combines a parcel type (shipping mode) with a product (service level). The connector handles most of this combination for you — here is the overview and the rules behind it.

Parcel Types

Parcel Type Use
DPD (B2B) Standard shipping to business customers — national and EU
B2C Shipping to private recipients — national and EU
primetime Time-window delivery in Austria (10:00/12:00/17:00, time frame, Saturday)
PaketShop Delivery (2S) Not yet available — follows in a later version

Set the default parcel type in the setup; you can change it per shipment in the label dialog.

KP Small Parcel DPD / B2C Parcels up to 3 kg
NP Normal Parcel DPD / B2C Parcels above 3 up to 31.5 kg

Product activation by DPD AT

Which products you can use depends on your DPD AT contract. Products that are not activated are rejected by the WEB.Service with an error of the form PR01-X ("product not activated") — request activation from the IT-Kundenberatung. See Troubleshooting.

Automatic Product Selection by Weight

With the default product "Auto (by weight)" the connector chooses at creation time:

Parcel weight ≤ 3.00 kg → KP (Small Parcel)
Parcel weight > 3.00 kg → NP (Normal Parcel)

The product actually sent to DPD AT is stored on the label as the Resolved Product Code — so you can always see what was transmitted.

Recommendation

Keep the auto selection as your default. Only when a shipment should deliberately run differently (e.g. a primetime time window) pick the product manually in the label dialog.

Combination Rules

Before every API call the connector validates that product and parcel type match — you get a clear message instead of a DPD error code:

  • KP, NP, RETURN require parcel type DPD or B2C
  • AM1, AM2, PM2, TFR, AM1-6, AM2-6 require parcel type primetime
  • primetime shipments require a recipient phone number

Value Added Services

Service Description Configuration
Higher Insurance Insures the goods value from EUR 520.01 to 15,000 Amount per label in the dialog; default amount in the setup
Predict (Email) DPD announces the delivery to the recipient by email Default switchable in the setup; uses the ship-to email address

Further DPD AT services (cash on delivery, identity check, storage permission, valuable parcel, and more) are planned for a later version.
