Return Labels
With a return label your customers simply drop parcels off at a Pickup PaketShop — no postage, no queueing.
Creating a Return Label
A return label is created from the posted sales shipment — it needs a real shipment as its reference.
- Open the posted sales shipment (search ++alt+q++ → Posted Sales Shipments → open the relevant shipment)
- On the ribbon under Actions › Shipment, run the Create Return Label action
- The connector creates a label with the RETURN product
There is no provider selection dialog — DPD Austria is resolved automatically from the shipment's shipping agent code. You receive a dedicated return parcel number and the return document as a PDF.
Prerequisite: matching shipping agent on the shipment
For DPD Austria to be chosen, the posted shipment must carry the shipping agent code that belongs to the DPD AT provider. If it is missing, the action reports that no return provider could be determined — set the code on the sales order before you post the shipment.
Passing the Return Document On
Open the created return label via Show Shipment Labels (on the posted shipment) or directly in the shipment label list. On the shipment label card you have two options:
- Download Return Label — PDF to print and enclose in the parcel
- Send Return Info to Customer — emails the return document directly to the customer
How the Return Works for Your Customer
- The customer sticks the return label onto the parcel
- Drop-off at any Pickup PaketShop in Austria
- DPD transports the parcel back to your sender address
Return Label Options
Both options are configured in the setup (Return Settings group):
| Option | Effect |
|---|---|
| Return Label Without Receipt | The document is created without the PaketShop receipt page (WEB.Service option noquit) |
| Digital Return Label (2D Code) | In addition to the label, DPD AT delivers a 2D code (Aztec) the customer can show on their phone at the PaketShop — the parcel then needs no printed label (option 2d) |
| Return Label Output Format | PDF or ZPL, independent of the outbound label format |
Paperless returns
Combining the 2D code with emailing the return document spares your customers the printer: show the code on the phone, hand over the parcel, done.
Cancellation and Reprint
Return labels behave like regular labels: you can cancel them as long as the return has not been dropped off, and reprint them at any time.
Alternative: Collection at the Customer's Address
Should DPD collect the parcel at your customer's address instead of the customer bringing it to a PaketShop? Then use a collection request — DPD picks up at any address and delivers to yours.
