eBay Item Condition (Condition Details)
For certain categories and conditions eBay requires standardised condition descriptors — e.g. type of damage or missing parts for used goods. The connector fetches the requirements from eBay (Sell Metadata API) and makes them maintainable directly on the item card.
Maintaining condition details on the item
The Condition Details section on the item card shows the descriptors applicable to the item's category and condition:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Descriptor Name | Name of the condition detail (e.g. Damage type) — bold when required. |
| Value Name | Selected value — pick from the values eBay allows via click. |
| Required | Whether eBay requires this detail for category and condition. |
If required details are missing, the listing sync blocks publication of the item with a corresponding error message.
Descriptor reference list
The eBay Condition Descriptors page shows the descriptor definitions cached per category (category, condition, requirement level, allowed values, last fetch) — useful for checking what eBay currently requires.

Refurbished programs
Besides New and Used, the conditions include the eBay refurbished levels (Certified, Excellent, Very Good, Good). Condition descriptors are particularly often mandatory for refurbished offers.
