eBay Setup Wizard

The eBay Setup Wizard guides you through the initial setup of the connector in five steps. It creates two things, because eBay needs both: an account carrying the credentials and a marketplace for the country to sell on. Both are stored as defaults in the global setup.

Start the wizard

  • Via search: Assisted Setup → group AD merchantCENTRAL - SetupeBay Connector Setup

On opening, the wizard checks whether the merchantCENTRAL hub is configured (platform guard) — if not, it takes you there first.

The steps

Step 1 — Welcome

Checklist of prerequisites: eBay developer account with keyset (App ID/Cert ID), RuName and an eBay seller login for the consent.

Step 2 — eBay account

Assign account code and name, choose the environment (sandbox/production — separate keysets and tokens), then enter Client ID, Client Secret and RuName. Then, directly in this step:

  1. Request eBay Consent — opens the eBay consent page in the browser.
  2. Enter Authorization Code — paste the address eBay returned (or just the code); the wizard exchanges it for a long-lived refresh token.

Step 3 — First marketplace

Choose the eBay site (e.g. EBAY_DE) and set marketplace code, currency, customer template and location. The country is pre-filled from company information.

Step 4 — Business policies

Pick fulfillment, payment and return policy via lookup from the policies read from eBay — or have Create Default Policies create a standard set. Also enter the default category.

Step 5 — Connection test

Test Connection verifies the API connection with the entered data; Finish enables account and marketplace and registers the connector with the hub.

Tips

Authorization code expires

The code from the consent flow is valid for only a few minutes and can be used once. Run Enter Authorization Code right after granting consent.

More accounts and countries

Additional accounts and marketplaces are created later via the accounts and marketplaces pages — the wizard is only needed for the initial setup.
