eBay Policies (Business Policies)
The eBay Policies page shows the business policies read from eBay — fulfillment, payment and return policies. It serves as the lookup behind the policy fields on the marketplace card: policies are selected by name rather than by their eBay ID.
The list is read-only on purpose — eBay is the authority. Policies are maintained in the eBay Seller Hub; this page shows what was last read from there.

Handling Time Policies
eBay has no handling time per offer — it is part of the fulfillment policy. When the sales channel uses the hub's handling time (Use Handling Time on the hub marketplace or sales channel, hub 2.132 or later), the connector puts every offer on a fulfillment policy that shows the promised handling time.
- Rounding: eBay accepts only certain values: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 business days. The promise is rounded up to the next of them, never down — a promise of 6 days shows on eBay as 10 days.
- Missing policy: If there is none for a value yet, the connector creates it on first need as a copy of the marketplace's default fulfillment policy (Fulfillment Policy ID on the marketplace card). The copy differs only in handling time and name:
<name of the default policy> - 3 days(- 1 dayfor 1 day). Shipping services, costs and regions stay the same; the default policy itself is not changed. If eBay already has a policy of that name with the same handling time, the connector takes it over instead of creating a second one. If the default policy shows the value itself, the offer stays on it. - Switched off: Offers run on the default fulfillment policy as before. An offer the connector had moved earlier goes back to it.

The connector fills the list itself; you can only delete rows. Delete removes the row in Business Central only — the policy on eBay and the offers on it stay unchanged. When an offer needs the handling time again, the connector looks the policy up on eBay by its name and takes it over; if it no longer exists there, it creates a new copy of the current default fulfillment policy.
If you select another default fulfillment policy on the marketplace, the existing rows no longer apply: copies of the new default policy are created on the next need.
Order of quantity and policy
Every unit on eBay must ship within the handling time eBay shows at that moment. The inventory sync therefore sends:
- for a shorter promise the quantity first, then the new policy — the quantity from faster sources holds under the old, longer handling time as well;
- for a longer promise the policy first, then the quantity.
The promise counts as published only once eBay has accepted both. If the longer policy cannot be set or the promise is longer than 30 business days, the connector reports quantity 0 until it succeeds. The reason is shown on the item (listing issues) and in the activity log; the next run tries again.
Promise longer than 30 days
Limit the promise to 30 at most with Max. Handling Time (Days) on the hub marketplace or sales channel. Slower sources then no longer count, and the offer stays sellable.
Changes to the default policy
The copies are created once. If you later change shipping services or costs of the default fulfillment policy in eBay Seller Hub, adjust the copies there as well.
Tips
Quick start without own policies
If the account has no policies at all yet, the Create Default Policies action (on the setup card or in the wizard) creates a standard set: DHL parcel with flat rate, eBay Managed Payments, 30-day returns.
Prerequisite: business policies program
eBay accounts must be opted in to business policies — the Opt in to Business Policies action on the setup card does this once.
