This is the advanced/diagnostic tool for building, validating and uploading a listing JSON by hand. The guided path for end users is the Create New Amazon Product wizard.
Listing Preparation (Advanced) helps with creating a new product on Amazon (new ASIN) – i.e. for items that do not exist in the Amazon catalog yet. It sends complete product data (product type, attributes) as a feed. To attach your own offer to an Amazon product that already exists, use List Offer (Existing ASIN) instead (see Amazon Items).

Steps

| Marketplace | The Marketplace you prepare the listing for – preset with the home marketplace; the participating marketplaces are available – and its Marketplace Name. Changing the marketplace clears the product type, the preview, the warnings and the trace. |
| Step 1: Product Type | Choose the Product Type via the lookup in the field or with Search & Select Product Type. The list offers the product types for which Amazon Listing Mappings exist on the marketplace. |
| Step 2: Item | Enter the Item No. or choose the item from the item list with Select Item. |
| Step 3: Build & Preview | Build Listing JSON builds the listing from the listing mappings. Preview JSON (first 250 chars) shows the start of the JSON, Validation Warnings the warnings and Trace the most recent mapping writes with type and value. |
Actions

| Import Product Types | Sets up a product type: you choose it from the available product types of the marketplace, and the connector loads its definition and property documentation and creates disabled listing mappings for the required and the documented properties. The product type is then selected. |
| Validate JSON Against Schema | Checks required fields and enum values against the stored property documentation and writes the result to Validation Warnings. |
| Download JSON (Text) | Downloads the listing JSON as a text file and builds it first if necessary. |
| Download Trace | Downloads the full mapping trace of the last build. |
| Open Listing Mappings | Opens the Amazon Listing Mappings, filtered on marketplace and product type. |
| Upload Listing to Amazon | Builds the listing again right before sending – the offer carries the current prices from the price list – and sends it as a JSON_LISTINGS_FEED; the message states the feed ID. If the item is already listed on Amazon and has no price for Amazon, the upload stops with The listing would delete the offer. |
New product type
If the product type you need is missing from the list, set it up with Import Product Types. The listing mappings it creates are disabled and only go into the JSON once you choose their sources in the Amazon Listing Mappings and turn the lines on with Enabled.
