Create New Amazon Product
The Create New Amazon Product wizard creates a product that does not exist on Amazon yet (new ASIN). It sends complete product data (product type, attributes) as a JSON_LISTINGS_FEED and guides you through the process step by step.
If the product already exists on Amazon, you attach your own offer to the existing ASIN instead – that is what List Offer (Existing ASIN) or the guided entry List on Amazon... is for (see Amazon Items).
Opening the Page
- Via the Amazon Items list → Listing → Create New Product... (item and marketplace are then preset)
- Via List on Amazon... after a confirmation, if the item has neither an ASIN nor a GTIN nor a manufacturer part number (Common Item No.), or if you decline the catalog search there
Steps
| Step | Content |
|---|---|
| Step 1: Marketplace | Choose the Amazon marketplace (default: home marketplace). Changing the marketplace resets the product type and the preview. |
| Step 2: Item | Choose the Business Central item. Its description, GTIN and item category are shown. If the item is already linked to an ASIN on this marketplace, the wizard blocks with a note pointing to the offer path. |
| Step 3: Product Type | Choose the Amazon product type. It is written to the Amazon item (the item card remains the authoritative source). Fetch Product Types from Amazon loads product types and their required mappings from Amazon. You can only continue if Amazon Listing Mappings exist for marketplace + product type. |
| Step 4: Build & Validate | The listing is built from the listing mappings and checked against the schema. Warnings are shown but do not block. Show technical details displays the JSON preview and the mapping log (Trace), including download. |
| Step 5: Review & Submit | Summary (marketplace, item, product type, warnings). Finish sends the feed to Amazon; if there are warnings, a confirmation follows. You can track the result in the Amazon Feed Tracker. |
Actions
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Back / Next | Navigation between the steps. Each step is checked when you move on. |
| Fetch Product Types from Amazon (step 3) | Loads the available product types from Amazon and, for the selected one, its definition and required mappings. |
| Download JSON / Download Trace (step 4) | Downloads the built listing JSON or the mapping log as a file (only when the technical details are shown). |
| Finish (step 5) | Sends the new product to Amazon as a listing feed. |
Prerequisite: listing mappings
Amazon Listing Mappings must be maintained for the chosen product type (Amazon Administration or Amazon Items → Listing Mappings). If they are missing, step 3 blocks with a corresponding note.
