Amazon Settings
Amazon Settings is the complete setup of your Amazon seller account. It is located in the hub on the Marketplace Setup card of the AMAZON marketplace, in the Marketplace Settings section, and appears only in the AMAZON line. This is where you change all settings of the account; the Amazon Administration page only displays the account.
The connector manages exactly one Amazon seller account. The countries you sell in (DE, FR, IT …) are Amazon Marketplace Participations of this account.
Opening the Page
- Via the Amazon Administration → Open in Hub
- Via search: Marketplaces → open the AMAZON line → Marketplace Settings section
Fields
General
FastTab General.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Account Name | Name of the Amazon seller account. The setup wizard suggests Amazon. |
| Active | Only an active account calls Amazon. If the switch is off, every action and every job ends with "The Amazon seller account is not active." |
| Home Marketplace Code | Home marketplace (e.g. DE), selected from the marketplace participations. Pages and actions that are not opened for a specific marketplace start with this marketplace, and it applies to data without a marketplace of its own, such as an order with an unknown marketplace ID. |
| Home Marketplace ID | Amazon marketplace ID of the home marketplace (e.g. A1PA6795UKMFR9 for Germany). It follows from the Home Marketplace Code and cannot be changed. |
| Merchant ID | Your Amazon seller ID (Merchant Token). Required. |
| Service Country | Country of the seller account as a two-letter code (e.g. DE). Among other things, it determines the language of Amazon's listing messages. |
| Use Sandbox | The connector works with Amazon's SP-API sandbox instead of the real marketplaces, for example while you set up a new installation (default: off). The sandbox answers with test data from Amazon and changes nothing in your Amazon account; it still needs a connection to Amazon (Connect to Amazon). For live operation, turn the switch off. |
Amazon Connection
FastTab Amazon Connection. The access tokens for Amazon are issued by the merchantCENTRAL token service (https://mca-token.merchantcentral.de). The credentials of the Amazon application and your refresh token are kept only there; Business Central does not store them. You grant the authorization once in Amazon Seller Central with Connect to Amazon. The key with which Business Central identifies itself to the token service is created by the completed authorization itself – you do not enter it anywhere.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Amazon Authorization | Status of the authorization: Connected (green), Not connected (red) or Not checked - click to check. If required information is missing, it shows Setup incomplete: followed by what is missing (Merchant ID, Home Marketplace Code, Amazon authorization). Clicking it checks with the token service. |
Push Notifications
FastTab Push Notifications. By default, the connector fetches all data via the job queue; orders and cancellations come with the order import. Nothing else is needed for this. Push notifications from Amazon are set up for your company by ALTENBRAND support; the connector itself does not create any destinations or subscriptions at Amazon. The notifications reach Business Central via the API page Amazon Notification API.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Notification API Key | Key that every notification to the API page Amazon Notification API must carry; without it, the page rejects the notification. The key applies to all companies of this environment. Only needed if ALTENBRAND support has set up push notifications. Shows only Configured or Not configured; clicking it opens the input. |
Email Notifications
FastTab Email Notifications. These emails concern feeds. For the feeds of the invoice upload – one feed per invoice – the connector does not send any of these emails on its own. Error emails about orders that could not be imported, about failed shipment confirmations and about failed invoice uploads are sent by the hub's error notification to the recipients from the merchantCENTRAL Setup.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable Email Notifications | Turns on the emails about feed submissions and feed results. |
| Notification Email | Recipients; separate multiple addresses with semicolons. |
| Sender Email Account | Email account used for sending, selected via AssistEdit from the email accounts of Business Central. |
| Notify on Success | Email when Amazon has processed a feed successfully. |
| Notify on Error | Email when an error has occurred. |
| Notify on Feed Submission | Email when a feed has been submitted to Amazon. |
You send test emails via the Amazon Administration → Test Emails.
Offer Settings
FastTab Offer Settings.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Default Offer Audience | Whom items are offered to on Amazon unless an item says otherwise: B2C and B2B (default), B2B Only or B2C Only. A change affects all items that follow the default; a confirmation states their number, and the changed offers go to Amazon with the next price sync. See Prices and Offers. |
Fulfillment Settings
FastTab Fulfillment Settings.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable FBA | Shows the FBA actions, pages and fields throughout the connector (default: off). Leave it off if you only ship yourself (MFN). |
| Default Handling Time (Days) | Handling time in working days until shipping (default: 2). It goes to Amazon with every quantity as lead_time_to_ship_max_days and applies to all items. |
| Confirm Shipments Automatically | Every posted shipment of an order that you ship yourself is queued, and the job confirms it to Amazon within about 15 minutes, with the tracking numbers of its packages (default: off). When you turn it on, the connector creates the SHIPMENT_CONFIRM job. See Amazon Shipment Confirmations. |
| Wait for Tracking (Hours) | How long a posted shipment without a tracking number waits for one before it is confirmed without it (default: 4, 0 to 168). If the number arrives later, it goes to Amazon in a second confirmation. Can only be changed with Confirm Shipments Automatically. |
| Acknowledge Orders Automatically | Every order import reports to Amazon which orders have become sales orders – one feed per marketplace (default: on). Orders that are held back because of an unknown SKU are acknowledged as soon as their sales order exists. |
| FBA Location Code | Location that represents the inventory in Amazon's fulfillment centers. Orders that Amazon ships (FBA) are imported with this location; their shipments take the inventory from there. Choose a location without warehouse shipments, picks and bins – any other location is rejected. Without a location, FBA orders get the customer's location like all other orders. Can only be changed with Enable FBA. |
| FBA Adjustment Journal Template | Item journal template of the journal that receives the adjustment suggestions for the FBA location. Can only be changed with Enable FBA. |
| FBA Adjustment Journal Batch | Item journal batch for the adjustment suggestions. Every suggestion replaces the lines of this journal batch, so use a dedicated one. Nothing is posted until you post the journal. Can only be changed with Enable FBA. |
Reconciling FBA inventory
Suggest FBA Adjustments in the Amazon Items list compares Amazon's inventory with the FBA location and writes the differences to the journal as positive or negative adjustments. Amazon counts units that are available, reserved, unfulfillable or being researched, but no units on their way to Amazon; Business Central counts the inventory of the FBA location, minus open sales orders and plus open sales return orders and credit memos there. This requires a complete retrieval of the FBA inventory within the last 24 hours (job FBA_INVENTORY or Refresh FBA Inventory in the same list). Items without an FBA SKU, blocked items and items with item tracking are skipped; the message states their number.
Returns
FastTab Returns.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Customer for Unknown Returns | Customer for whom a sales return order or credit memo is created if the Amazon order of a return is not in Business Central – for example because it was sold before the connector was in use. Without it, such returns remain with an error on the Amazon Returns page. |
Settlements
FastTab Settlements. The settings only take effect with the add-on module AMAZON-SETTLE (€105 net per 4 weeks per channel); without it, no settlements are imported, matched or posted. You work on the settlements themselves on the hub page Settlements.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Settlement Lookback (Days) | How far back the first import reads (default: 90 days). Later imports continue where the last one stopped. |
| Post Settlements Automatically | Every settlement import posts the Amazon payouts whose lines are matched and that add up to the transferred amount within the settlement tolerance from the merchantCENTRAL Setup. A payout that does not stays open for review; the hub monitor shows it three days after the transfer. The matching always runs, even without this switch. |
API Settings
FastTab API Settings.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| SP-API Endpoint URL | Address of the Amazon SP-API (default: https://sellingpartnerapi-eu.amazon.com). Only Amazon's regional endpoints (EU, NA, FE) are accepted, because the access token is sent to this address. Do not enter a sandbox address here; that is what Use Sandbox is for (see General). |
Actions
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Connect to Amazon | Starts the authorization in Amazon Seller Central. The token service issues a one-time consent link for the European Seller Central, which opens in the browser. Confirm the authorization there and then answer Yes in Business Central – the connection is then complete. Only possible in a user session. |
| Test Connection | Checks both halves of the connection: the token service must issue an access token, and Amazon must use it to return the marketplace participations of the account. The message states their number. Before that, the hub checks the AMAZON license: if the module is not registered yet, it opens the demo registration; without a valid license, the test stops and states the reason. |
| Finish Connection with Code | Completes an authorization that was started in the Amazon Appstore: paste the connection code from the Amazon connection page (see Finish Amazon Connection). Not needed with Connect to Amazon. |
| Disconnect from Amazon | Deletes the authorization in the token service after a confirmation. After that, the token service no longer issues access tokens until you connect again in Seller Central. |
Tips
Initial Setup
The easiest way is the Amazon Connector Setup wizard: it asks for the seller data, guides you through the authorization and creates the marketplaces. After that, Set Up Automation on the Amazon Administration page sets up all jobs in one step.
If the connection fails
- This Amazon account is not connected to Amazon. – Run Connect to Amazon and confirm the authorization in Seller Central.
- The token service could not obtain an access token from Amazon. – Usually temporary. If the error persists, the authorization has probably been revoked; connect the account again with Connect to Amazon.
- The access token works, but Amazon returned no marketplace participations. – Check in Seller Central that the authorization includes the required roles and that the account is active on at least one marketplace.
- The token service could not be reached. – Outgoing HTTPS connections to
mca-token.merchantcentral.demust be possible. - The token service did not accept the tenant service key of this Business Central tenant. – Connect the account again with Connect to Amazon; the completed authorization issues a new key. If the error persists, contact ALTENBRAND support.
- The token service rejected the request data. – Connect the account again with Connect to Amazon. If the error persists, contact ALTENBRAND support.
