Amazon Marketplace Participations
This list shows the Amazon marketplaces of your seller account (e.g. DE, FR, IT), each with its own Marketplace ID. The marketplace code (e.g. DE) is also the code under which the items and orders of this marketplace are kept in the hub. For each marketplace, four switches determine what the connector uses it for, and the Invoice Upload field determines whether Business Central uploads its invoices to Amazon.
Opening the Page
- Via search: Amazon Marketplace Participations
- Via the Amazon Administration → Marketplace Participations or Get Marketplace Participations
- From the error Marketplace not set up → Open Marketplace Participations. Actions report this error for a marketplace that has no line with a Marketplace ID here; in that case, retrieve the marketplaces with Fetch from Amazon. The error No marketplace also leads here. Actions that offer a marketplace for selection – for example the diagnostic actions of the Amazon Administration – report it as long as there is no participating marketplace with a Marketplace ID.
- From the error No marketplace uses VCS of Import VCS Reports → Open Amazon Marketplace Participations.
- Via the Amazon Dashboard: the line VCS report import failed of the Waiting for you card opens the marketplaces with a VCS Report Error, the line VCS reports imported of the Connection and sync card opens all marketplaces that invoice with VCS.
Fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Marketplace Code | Short code of the marketplace (e.g. DE, FR, GB). The home marketplace is highlighted. |
| Marketplace ID | Unique Amazon ID of the marketplace. |
| Marketplace Name | Name of the marketplace. |
| Country Code | Country of the marketplace. |
| Domain Name | Amazon domain, e.g. amazon.de. |
| Status | Active (green), Inactive (red) or Inactive (Suspended Listings) (yellow) – as in Seller Central. |
| Has Suspended Listings | There are suspended listings on this marketplace (highlighted in red). |
| Use for Orders, Use for Listings, Use for Inventory, Use for Pricing | The four switches that determine what the connector uses the marketplace for (see below). |
| Invoice Upload | How you invoice the orders of the marketplace: Off, Own Invoices without VCS, VCS with Own Invoices or VCS with Amazon Invoices (VCS = Amazon's VAT Calculation Service). See Amazon Invoice Uploads. |
| Upload Invoices From | Posting date from which the invoices of the marketplace are uploaded automatically. |
| Last Synced | Time at which the data was last retrieved from Amazon. |
The list itself is read-only: you change the switches on the Amazon Marketplace Participation card or, for the selected lines, with Enable All Features or Disable All Features. You change Invoice Upload and Upload Invoices From on the card, on the Invoices FastTab; it also shows the time and the error of the last VCS report import. Is Participating is hidden by default; you can show the field as a column with Personalize.
What a marketplace is used for
The connector's runs cover all marketplaces in which you participate and whose switch for the task is turned on.
| Switch | Controls |
|---|---|
| Use for Orders | Order import (job ORDERS, Import Orders), order acknowledgment and returns import – with FBA, including FBA customer returns and Amazon FBA Reimbursements. If no marketplace is turned on for this, the connector imports the home marketplace. |
| Use for Listings | Import of existing listings (Import Existing Listings), the nightly ASIN search, the Amazon EAN-ASIN Best Match Export and the target marketplaces of List on Additional Marketplaces on the Amazon Items page. |
| Use for Inventory | Inventory sync for items you ship yourself (MFN) and reading in the FBA inventory (job FBA_INVENTORY, Refresh FBA Inventory in the Amazon Items list). |
| Use for Pricing | Price sync and the nightly fee estimate. |
The Amazon Connector Setup wizard turns on all four for each marketplace chosen there. A marketplace that was only retrieved with Fetch from Amazon initially has all four switches off and is used for nothing; turn on the ones you need on the card, or all four with Enable All Features. Alternatively, run the wizard again and select the marketplace in addition; the other marketplaces stay unchanged.
Use for Listings also decides whether the hub action Add to Marketplace creates Amazon items on this marketplace: for a marketplace without this switch, the wizard skips the item; its completion message counts it under Skipped (already exist) without giving the reason.
Actions
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Fetch from Amazon | Retrieves the marketplace participations of your account from Amazon and updates the list: name, country, currency, language, domain, participation and suspended listings. New marketplaces are created with all four switches off. If there are then marketplaces you participate in that are used for nothing, the message states their number. |
| Set as Home Marketplace | Makes the selected marketplace the home marketplace of the account. |
| Enable All Features / Disable All Features | After a confirmation, turns all four switches of the selected marketplaces on or off. If the home marketplace is among the selected ones when turning them off, the confirmation points this out. |
| Amazon Administration | Opens the Amazon Administration. |
| Open Amazon Seller Central | Opens the Seller Central account overview for the domain of the marketplace in the browser. |
