Amazon Marketplace

The Amazon Marketplace section shows the Amazon settings of a single marketplace of your seller account, for example amazon.de or amazon.fr. It is located on the Amazon Marketplace Setup (hub card Marketplace Setup of the AMAZON marketplace) below the Sales Channels list and applies to the sales channel you selected there: if you select another marketplace in the list, the section follows it.

What Amazon reports about the marketplace is shown here for information only. You can determine what the connector uses the marketplace for, how you invoice its orders and – with FBA – the FBA price surcharge. The hub settings of the same sales channel (price list, price check, handling time, customer emails) are in the list and in the Sales Channel Connection section above it, not here. The settings of the seller account as a whole are in the Amazon Settings.

Opening the Page

  • Role Center → merchantCENTRAL → Setup → Marketplaces section → Amazon line → Set Up; then select the marketplace in the Sales Channels list
  • Via the Amazon Marketplaces overview → Set Up: opens the Amazon Marketplace Setup with this marketplace selected
  • From an error message of the connector → Open Amazon Marketplace Setup; if the error names a marketplace, it is selected in the Sales Channels list

The Sales Channels list shows the Amazon marketplaces you participate in. Import Marketplaces on the Amazon Marketplace Setup retrieves them from Amazon (see Amazon Settings). When an administrator opens the card on AMAZON, it adds the sales channels of marketplaces that are already imported but still missing.

Fields

You can only change the fields with write permission on the Amazon marketplaces; for other users, the section is read-only.

Amazon

Group Amazon, display only.

Field Description
Marketplace ID Unique Amazon ID of the marketplace, e.g. A1PA6795UKMFR9 for amazon.de.
Domain Name Amazon domain of the marketplace, e.g. amazon.de.
Default Currency Code Currency in which sales are made on this marketplace.
Default Language Code Language of the marketplace.
Status Active (green), Inactive (Suspended Listings) or Inactive – as in Seller Central. Inactive (Suspended Listings) is red as long as your account participates in the marketplace; a marketplace without participation appears gray.
Home Marketplace Whether this marketplace is the home marketplace of the seller account. Pages and actions that are not opened for a specific marketplace start with it. Cannot be changed here: you choose the home marketplace in the Home Marketplace Code field of the Amazon Settings.
Last Synced Time at which the data of the marketplace was last imported from Amazon.

Use

Group Use. Four switches determine what the connector uses the marketplace for. The connector's runs cover all marketplaces in which you participate and whose switch for the task is turned on.

Field Controls
Use for Orders Order import (job ORDERS, Import Orders), order acknowledgment and returns import – with FBA, including FBA customer returns and Amazon FBA Reimbursements. If no marketplace is turned on for this, the connector imports the home marketplace.
Use for Listings Import of existing listings (Import Listings), the nightly ASIN search, the Amazon EAN-ASIN Best Match Export and the target marketplaces of List on Additional Marketplaces on the Amazon Items page. It also decides whether the hub action Add to Marketplace creates Amazon items on this marketplace: for a marketplace without this switch, the wizard skips the item; its completion message counts it under Skipped (already exist) without giving the reason.
Use for Inventory Inventory sync for items you ship yourself (MFN) and reading in the FBA inventory (job FBA_INVENTORY, Refresh FBA Inventory in the Amazon Items list).
Use for Pricing Price sync and the nightly fee estimate.

The Amazon Connector Setup wizard turns on all four for each marketplace chosen there. A marketplace that was only created by Import Marketplaces has all four off and is used for nothing; the message of Import Marketplaces states the number of such marketplaces. Turn on the switches you need here, all four with Enable All Features, or run the wizard again and select the marketplace in addition.

Invoices

Group Invoices. Here you determine whether Business Central uploads the invoices of this marketplace to Amazon, and see when Amazon's VCS report was last imported. VCS is Amazon's VAT Calculation Service. How the upload works is described under Amazon Invoice Uploads, what the VCS reports deliver under Amazon VCS Transactions.

Field Description
Invoice Upload How you invoice the orders of this marketplace, as set up in Seller Central: Off (default), Own Invoices without VCS, VCS with Own Invoices or VCS with Amazon Invoices. With own invoices, Business Central uploads every posted invoice of an order of this marketplace to Amazon – with VCS also the credit memos, checked against Amazon's VAT calculation. With Amazon invoices, it uploads nothing; the posted invoices and credit memos then show Amazon's numbers. The selection creates the required jobs: INVOICE_UPLOAD for own invoices, VCS_REPORTS for both VCS types.
Upload Invoices From Posting date from which invoices of this marketplace are uploaded automatically. You upload older ones individually with Upload Invoice on the posted sales invoice. If the field is empty when you choose a type with own invoices, the connector enters today's date. Mandatory as long as the marketplace uploads invoices; cannot be changed with Off and VCS with Amazon Invoices.
VCS Report Imported At When the VCS report of this marketplace was last imported: with VCS with Own Invoices the invoice data report, with VCS with Amazon Invoices the VAT calculation report. The job VCS_REPORTS imports every 6 hours.
VCS Report Error Why the last import of the VCS report failed, or how many lines of the report could not be read (highlighted in red). Empty after an import without errors.

If you change Invoice Upload, the connector discards a VCS report that was still requested for the previous setting. If the marketplace continues to invoice with VCS, the next run requests the matching report.

Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA)

Group Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). It only appears with Enable FBA in the Amazon Settings – or, as long as there is still a surcharge on the marketplace, also without it, so that you can see it and reset it to 0.

Field Description
FBA Price Surcharge % By how many percent an offer that Amazon ships on this marketplace alongside an Amazon item you ship yourself – its FBA twin, an FBA pack – costs more than the same unit shipped by you, to cover the higher FBA fees (0 to 100). The surcharge applies to the consumer price, the business price and the quantity prices of the offer; 0 means the same price. The Amazon item itself keeps the price of its price list, as do the offers of an Amazon item that Amazon ships. If there are such offers, the connector asks before saving, recalculates their prices right away and states how many have changed; the changed prices go to Amazon with the next price run.

Actions

The actions are in the menu of the section.

Action Description
Enable All Features After a confirmation, turns on all four switches of the Use group: the next runs import the orders of the marketplace and send offers, quantities and prices to it.
Disable All Features After a confirmation, turns off all four switches: no more orders are imported and no more offers, quantities or prices are sent. If the marketplace is the home marketplace, the confirmation points this out.
Open in Seller Central Opens the Seller Central account overview for the region of the marketplace in the browser. There you determine which marketplaces your account participates in.

Enable All Features and Disable All Features are only available with write permission on the Amazon marketplaces.

Tips

Marketplace missing from the Sales Channels list

The Sales Channels list only shows marketplaces your account participates in. If one is missing, retrieve the marketplaces again from Amazon with Import Marketplaces; if your account does not participate in it, change that in Seller Central. All imported marketplaces, including those without participation, are shown in the Amazon Marketplaces overview.

Home marketplace

You cannot delete the home marketplace. First change the Home Marketplace Code in the Amazon Settings.
