Amazon MFN Inventory Sync
This page allows you to synchronize the MFN (Merchant Fulfilled Network) inventory with Amazon. The quantity per offer is calculated by the central merchantCENTRAL inventory logic (stock source, safety stock, percentage cap, maximum quantity, fixed quantity). The Amazon connector has no formula of its own.

How the inventory gets to Amazon
The regular way is the Amazon Inventory Sync job (parameter INVENTORY). Setup Price & Inventory Sync Job on the Amazon Administration page creates it, together with the Amazon Feed Status Processor (parameter FEED_PROCESS, every 5 minutes), which queries the sent feeds at Amazon and confirms them. If the feed processor is missing, the next price or inventory run creates it. On every run:
- The quantity of every listed, active MFN offer is recalculated with the merchantCENTRAL inventory logic and saved as Marketplace Quantity.
- If it differs from the quantity Amazon last received, Update Quantity is set.
- All flagged quantities go to Amazon in one
JSON_LISTINGS_FEED. A feed takes 1,000 offers; if there are more, further feeds follow in the same run. - As soon as the feed processor has read Amazon's processing report for the feed, the flag is cleared. If the quantity has changed again in the meantime, the next run flags it again.
So you do not need to recalculate the quantities by hand for them to reach Amazon.
Data takeover and channel switch
If a marketplace has a cut-over date from the Amazon Data Takeover, Business Central sends neither prices nor inventory for it until it is released and its cut-over date has begun; an action by hand then stops with a reference to the data takeover. If you switch an item back to shipping it yourself with Switch to MFN (see Amazon Items), its currently calculated quantity goes to Amazon with the switch; after that, the inventory sync handles it like any other MFN offer.
Only listed, active MFN offers
The inventory sync only sends quantities for offers with an ASIN and listing status Active. The job and the actions on the Amazon item card and the item list only take marketplaces with Use for Inventory into account (see Amazon Marketplace Participations). Closed listings stay closed. Amazon manages FBA quantities itself: the connector only reads them in with the FBA_INVENTORY job or Refresh FBA Inventory in the Amazon Items list, broken down by type (see Amazon Item Card).
Multipacks
Packs are offers of their own with their own SKU. Every price run and every inventory run has the hub recalculate their quantities and prices and sends the changed ones in a feed of their own; quantities only go to Amazon for packs you ship yourself (MFN). You open the packs of an item on the Amazon Item Card with Offers.
Usage

An offer whose quantity is still in an unconfirmed feed waits for that feed and is not sent twice. Each of these runs – like the INVENTORY job and the price and inventory sync – starts by evaluating the finished feeds and then releases locks that earlier runs left behind: sync locks older than 30 minutes, and feed IDs whose feed is missing or has been stuck for more than 2 hours. Feeds that Amazon is still processing keep their items – as does a finished feed whose processing report has not been read yet, until the report is available or two hours have passed; after that, it counts as not processed. A feed that Amazon finished without a result document is released by the connector immediately; its quantities go out again with the next run.
Individual items and listings
The actions on the Amazon item card and the item list take the same route: a JSON_LISTINGS_FEED with the item's marketplace, an entry in the feed tracker, and the quantity stays flagged until the feed processor has picked up the confirmation from Amazon. If Amazon rejects it, the next regular run sends it again.

To send the quantities of all items of an item category, filter the Amazon Items list by Item Category Code, mark the lines and choose Sync Stock.
If an item's quantity is still in an unconfirmed feed, the selection waits for that feed; Close Listing and Reactivate Listing stop with a note. Otherwise the new feed could overtake the older one – Amazon does not necessarily process feeds in the order in which they arrive.
When Amazon rejects closing or reactivating a listing
Close Listing and Reactivate Listing set the status immediately; Amazon only confirms the quantity with the feed. If Amazon rejects it or the feed fails, the listing gets its previous status back when the feed is processed – a listing whose closing Amazon rejected is therefore active again, because the offer keeps selling on Amazon. The reason is in the activity log and in the feed errors. Which quantity Amazon has then is open; for a listing that is active again, the next inventory sync sends the calculated quantity.
If Amazon has processed the feed but it cannot be determined whether the change was accepted – Amazon's report states a rejection without a recognizable SKU, or there is no readable report after two hours – the status stays as it is. The quantity at Amazon then counts as unknown, and the activity log refers you to Refresh Listing Status.
Items Needing Sync counts the offers whose quantity differs from the one last sent to Amazon – as of the last recalculation. Refresh Statistics recalculates the quantities first.
After a listing
A listing sends its quantity bypassing the inventory sync, on some paths at least 1. That is why the quantity at Amazon counts as unknown afterwards. The first inventory sync after the listing sends the calculated quantity, even if it is 0.
