Amazon Listing Mappings

Amazon Listing Mappings defines from which data in Business Central each property of an Amazon product type is filled – one line per property for each Marketplace ID and product type. The mappings are needed by the Create New Amazon Product wizard, which creates a product that does not exist on Amazon yet. An offer for an existing ASIN does not need them.

Opening the Page

  • Via search: Amazon Listing Mappings
  • Via the Amazon Administration → Related → Listing Mappings
  • Via the Amazon Items list → Actions → Navigate → Listing Mappings

Fields

Field Description
Product Type Amazon product type the line applies to.
Marketplace ID Marketplace the line applies to. Product type definitions and their properties can differ from marketplace to marketplace.
Group Name, Property Name The property as a JSON path, e.g. item_name or item_name.language_tag.
Required Shows whether the product type definition requires the property.
Source Type Where the value comes from: Constant, Enum, Item Field, Item Attribute, Item Category Attribute, Amazon Item, Marketing Text or Array. The connector sets Array itself for container nodes; they take no value.
Source Path / Field / Attribute For Constant, the value itself; otherwise the field, the attribute or the language of the marketing text. The lookup helps you fill it in; for Item Category Attribute, you enter the name of the attribute by hand.
Enum Name The selected value for Enum.
Transformation Optional conversion of the value, such as uppercase, integer or date.
Enabled Only enabled lines are included in the product data. Newly created lines are turned off.
Array Sequence Order for properties with multiple values.
Last Updated Last change to the line.

Below that, Schema Description shows the description of the selected property from Amazon's documentation.

Actions

Action Description
Import Docs & Required Loads the definition and property documentation of a product type that you choose from Amazon's list, for the Marketplace ID of the filter – without a filter, for the home marketplace – and creates disabled lines for the required and the documented properties. The message counts groups, documents, enum lines and created lines.
Import Enums Only Loads only the value lists. Filter on Product Type and Marketplace ID first.
Seed Required From Schema / Seed All From Docs Creates the lines for the required properties or for all documented properties, where they are still missing.
Select Item Field / Select Item Attribute / Pick Enum Value Selects the source of the selected line.
Apply Suggested Transformation / Auto-Toggle Enum Source Sets the transformation according to the type and format in the schema, or switches lines with allowed values to Enum.
Validate Row / Validate Filtered Checks the selected line or all filtered lines against the documentation and shows notes. It checks the value the listing sends. Without findings, Validate Row reports "No issues found."
Clone to Marketplace / Clone to Product Type Copies the filtered lines to another Marketplace ID or another product type, each as it is. Two exceptions: on a copy to another marketplace, fixed language_tag and marketplace_id lines get the language and the Marketplace ID of the target marketplace, as with Set Locale Defaults. And a disabled Constant or Enum line without a value gets the first allowed value of the target as a suggestion. Lines that exist in the target already stay unchanged. Check the copy with Validate Filtered afterwards: a value the target does not allow shows up there as a hint.
Set Locale Defaults Fills the empty mappings for language_tag and marketplace_id in the filtered lines as constants (see below).
Open Enums Opens the value lists of the product type and marketplace.

Import Docs & Required and Import Enums Only work for every marketplace of your Amazon Marketplace Participations. They reject a Marketplace ID that is not among them, with a note to retrieve the participations first on the Amazon Marketplace Participations page.

Set Locale Defaults sets language_tag to the default language of the line's marketplace, written the way Amazon writes it (from the Default Language Code of the marketplace participation, e.g. fr_FR for amazon.fr), and marketplace_id to its Marketplace ID. The action only sets language_tag if the participation has a default language with a region; otherwise the mapping stays empty. It does not change lines with the source type Item Field, Item Attribute or Array, or lines that already have a value. The message counts the changed lines.
