Amazon FBA Shipments
A shipment is the part of an FBA inbound plan that goes to one Amazon fulfillment center. Amazon creates the shipments when you confirm the placement option on the Amazon FBA Inbound Plan card. The list shows the shipments of all plans; on the Amazon FBA Shipment card, you download the box labels, confirm delivery window and tracking if you use your own carrier, and post the transfer shipment.

FBA only
The list and the card only open if Enable FBA is turned on in the Amazon Settings.
List Fields

Shipment Card
The Amazon FBA Shipment card shows a shipment with its destination, transportation, items and boxes.
General

Items
The SKUs that Amazon has assigned to this shipment, and what Amazon has received of them. The section is read-only.

Boxes
The boxes of the shipment as Amazon lists them after Confirm Transportation. If you use your own carrier with parcels, you enter the tracking numbers here.

Delivery Windows
Some marketplaces require a confirmed delivery window for your own carrier; on the plan card, the transportation option shows this in Preconditions with CONFIRMED_DELIVERY_WINDOW. The Delivery Windows section appears as soon as you have chosen Generate Delivery Windows or a delivery window is confirmed:
- Generate Delivery Windows – Amazon names the possible delivery windows of the shipment; the Description column shows start and end.
- Set Selected on a delivery window.
- Confirm Delivery Window – the delivery window is then shown in Delivery Window Start and Delivery Window End.
- On the plan card, choose Confirm Transportation.
The fields of the section are the same as in the Options section of the plan card.
Shipment Card Actions
Process

| Download Box Labels | Downloads the labels for the boxes of this shipment, four on an A4 sheet. Amazon issues them as soon as the transportation is confirmed; without a Shipment Confirmation ID, the action stops. |

Delivery Window

Here, too, the connector waits up to two minutes for Amazon's result. If Amazon refuses, an error message names Amazon's reasons.
Shipping and Receipt
The transfer order of the plan moves the inventory: from your warehouse via the in-transit location to the FBA location.
Shipment: Post Transfer Shipment on the shipment card sets Qty. to Ship on the transfer lines to exactly the units of this shipment and posts the shipment; the other lines go with their own shipments. The units of a SKU go first to the transfer line the plan line was created from, then to further lines of the same item with a remaining quantity; a line in the unit of measure of a pack only takes whole packs. If the remaining quantity is not enough, posting stops with a message. Once all shipments of the plan are posted, the plan is in the Shipped step.
Receipt: You post the receipt at the FBA location only once Amazon has received the goods. For this, after the shipment the connector resets Qty. to Receive on the transfer lines to what Amazon has already received – so after the first shipment 0, not the quantity that Business Central prefills on shipment. Amazon's inventory ledger reports each receipt with the shipment confirmation ID (FBA15…); on the next Suggest FBA Adjustments (Amazon Items list or Amazon FBA Ledger Entries)
- these units count as Qty. Received on the shipment,
- Qty. to Receive on the transfer order is set to what Amazon has received and Business Central has not received yet,
- the ledger entry gets the status On Transfer Order instead of an adjustment line.
Then post the transfer order (Post → Receive). Receipts that cannot be assigned to a shipment, or that add up to more than the transfer order has shipped, remain adjustment lines in the item journal. Until the receipt is posted, the inventory reconciliation already counts the units Amazon has received toward the FBA location.
Only without warehouse shipments
Post Transfer Shipment only works from a location without Require Shipment. If your warehouse ships with warehouse shipments, post the transfer shipment from a warehouse shipment.
Tips
Order of steps for each shipment
- Download Box Labels and stick them on the boxes.
- With your own carrier: enter the tracking numbers or bill of lading and choose Send Tracking Numbers.
- When the goods leave your warehouse: Post Transfer Shipment.
- When Amazon has received them: Suggest FBA Adjustments, then post the receipt of the transfer order.
FBA at a glance
