Amazon FBA Removal Orders
This list shows your removal orders at Amazon: what Amazon sends back to you, disposes of or liquidates from your FBA inventory – and the transfer orders that bring units sent back into your own warehouse. The Amazon FBA Removal Order card shows one order with its lines and packages; this help describes both pages.
You create removal orders in Seller Central. Business Central only reads them in; you cannot change anything here.
Opening the Page
- Via search: Amazon FBA Removal Orders (also Amazon removal, FBA disposal, FBA return to seller)
- Via the Amazon Dashboard → Related → FBA Removal Orders
- The card: from the list with an order, or on the Transfer Order → Actions → Amazon FBA → FBA Removal Order
FBA only
The pages only open if Enable FBA is turned on in the Amazon Settings.
How Removals Get to Business Central
With FBA turned on, the returns import (the REFUNDS job or Import Returns on the Amazon Dashboard) reads two reports from Amazon once a day for each marketplace with Use for Orders – before the inventory ledger:
- the removal order detail report: per order, SKU and condition, what is requested, sent back, disposed of or cancelled;
- the removal shipment detail report: carrier and tracking number of each package.
The first run reads the orders of the last 60 days; after that, the period reaches back to the oldest order that Amazon is still working on (at most 180 days), so that its quantities stay up to date. Units of an order from before the first run that Amazon had already sent back by then are left out (Shipped Before Start): the FBA inventory the connector started from no longer contained them. An Amazon Data Takeover sets this start to its cut-over date.
Return
If an FBA Removal Location Code is set up, the returns import puts everything that Amazon has sent back on a transfer order: from the FBA location – for an unsellable condition, from the FBA Unsellable Location Code – to the removal location, with the in-transit location of the transfer route or the FBA In-Transit Code. There is one transfer order per removal order and source location, and one line per SKU and condition; the External Document No. is the order ID. If Amazon sends further packages, the same line is increased; a released transfer order is briefly reopened for this and released again.
Then:
- Post the shipment: Amazon has already shipped the goods. Post the transfer shipment with Post Transfer Shipment on the card or on the transfer order. The units leave the FBA location and are in transit.
- Post the receipt: Your warehouse posts the receipt when the packages arrive. Carrier and tracking number are on the card under Packages.
The ledger entries of this return get the status On Transfer Order in the Amazon FBA Ledger Entries; the adjustment suggestion does not post them a second time. Without a removal location, Suggest FBA Adjustments suggests units sent back as a decrease, like disposals.
Disposal and Liquidation
Units disposed of or liquidated do not come back. Suggest FBA Adjustments posts them as a decrease from the FBA location, with the reason code of the DISPOSAL or LIQUIDATE line in the Amazon FBA Adjustment Reasons.

Actions
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Create Transfer Orders | After a confirmation, puts all units that Amazon has sent back and that are not on a transfer order yet on transfer orders to your removal location. Each line runs on its own; a line that fails keeps the reason as Skip Reason. The message states the number of lines. The returns import does this on every run. In the list and on the card. |
| Post Transfer Shipment | On the card only: after a confirmation, posts the shipment of the transfer orders of this removal order – each transfer order ships what is on it and has not been shipped yet. The units leave the FBA location and are in transit to your removal location; your warehouse posts the receipt. The message states the number of transfer shipments posted. |
| Transfer Orders | Opens the transfer orders of the removal order. |
| FBA Ledger Entries | Opens the removals from Amazon's inventory ledger for this removal order (Amazon FBA Ledger Entries). |
On the Transfer Order, Actions → Amazon FBA → FBA Removal Order opens the removal order whose units it brings back. The link is made via the Transfer Order No. on the removal lines, not via the External Document No.
Tips
Setup
In the Amazon Settings, enter an FBA Removal Location Code – a location of its own, not the FBA location – and, if no transfer route from the FBA location to it sets an in-transit location, the FBA In-Transit Code. If you enter the removal location later, it only takes over what Amazon sends back from then on; anything earlier was already treated as an adjustment.
Source location with warehouse shipments
If the source location ships with warehouse shipments, Post Transfer Shipment does not post; post the transfer shipment from a warehouse shipment instead. An FBA location, on the other hand, must work without warehouse shipments, picks and bins, or the connector refuses it (see Amazon Settings).
Creating removal orders
You still create removal orders in Seller Central. Amazon offers no documented interface for this that the connector could use.
