Create a Shipment
You create Rhenus shipments through the hub's central Create Label dialog. When you select RHENUS as the shipping agent, the dialog reveals the Rhenus-specific fields: service, delivery date (fixed appointment), Avise, and the packages (Colli).
Workflow
- Open a sales order or warehouse shipment with a valid recipient address
- Set the shipping agent to RHENUS
- Open Create Label
- Choose the service (e.g. STANDARD, EXPRESS, FIX)
- Capture the packages (Colli) and — for FIX services — the delivery date
- Create the shipment
On creation, the BORD512 file is generated and (outside sandbox) transmitted to Rhenus via the Azure Function. A separate shipping label with its own number is created for each package.
Rhenus-specific fields
Service (Shipping Agent Service)
Choose the Rhenus service. Available are standard LTL freight, express variants (Next Day), and fixed-date deliveries with time windows.
→ All services: Rhenus Services
Delivery date (fixed appointment)
Mandatory for all FIX* services.
Delivery date rules
- Must be in the future
- Must not be a Sunday (Rhenus delivers Mon–Sat)
The dialog validates the date on creation and reports an error if these rules are violated.
Avise (recipient notification)
Optional value-added service: the recipient is notified in advance by phone or email about the delivery. The Avise flag is transmitted as BORD512 record H00 (primary phone, fallback email from the recipient address).
Packages (Colli)
In the Packages (Colli) section, capture one or more packages. When you select a packaging material, the package type, dimensions, and tare weight are pre-filled automatically.

Label formats
You control the output format via Default Label Format in the setup (or per shipment):
| Format | Description |
|---|---|
| Visual shipping label from a Word layout report | |
| ZPL | CargoLine/Rhenus pallet label for thermal printers — one label per package, with a barcode parcel number (from the number series), Modulo-10 check digit, depot, and — for FIX — the appointment date |
One label per package
A separate label with its own tracking/parcel number is created for each package (sibling labels). All packages remain linked to the master shipment so the end-of-day close groups them correctly.
After creation
Additional actions are available on the shipping label list:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Download BORD512 | Download the shipment's BORD512 file again |
| Exclude / Include Manifest | Exclude a shipment from the end-of-day close or add it back (excluded rows are greyed out) |
No online tracking
Rhenus does not offer online tracking for end customers. The generated parcel number is used for internal reference and the barcode on the label; shipment status is coordinated directly with Rhenus.
