Here you will find solutions for common problems with the Rhenus connector as well as answers to recurring questions.

Setup & connection

\"Test Connection\" fails

Possible causes and solutions:

  1. Azure Function URL/Key wrong — check both values from the deployment output. Re-enter the key via the secure input dialog.
  2. Azure Function not yet deployed — run the Set up Azure Function action → Azure Function & SFTP.
  3. SFTP credentials wrong — re-enter host, username, and password; mind upper/lower case.
  4. HttpClient not allowed — in Extension Management, enable "Allow HttpClient Requests" for the app.

Mandatory fields are missing. Outside sandbox, the Azure Function URL and SFTP Host are mandatory. Fill in the missing fields in the setup → Setup (Reference).

Wizard blocks / redirects to hub setup

The Platform Guard requires the merchantCENTRAL hub to be set up first. Complete the hub setup and start the Rhenus wizard again.

Creating shipments

Error: delivery date required / invalid

A delivery date is mandatory for all FIX* services. It must be in the future and must not be a Sunday (Rhenus delivers Mon–Sat). Choose a valid date or a non-FIX service → Rhenus Services.

Error: no packages defined

A Rhenus shipment requires at least one package (BORD512 D00). In the Create Label dialog, capture at least one package in the Packages (Colli) section → Packages.

Packaging material is not selectable in the dialog

Only packaging materials with a valid BORD512 package type (EP, FP, HP, GI, KO, PA, KA, CO) are selectable for Rhenus. Assign a package type to the material under Packaging Materials. Materials pre-configured on installation (RH-EP…RH-CO) are already mapped correctly.

Transfer & operation

No file is transmitted to Rhenus

Check whether Sandbox Mode is active — then the BORD512 file is generated locally only and not uploaded. For production, disable sandbox mode and make sure the Azure Function and SFTP are configured (Test Connection = OK).

Where do I find the generated shipping label?

The label is generated as PDF or ZPL per package and stored on the shipping label. You control the format via Default Label Format → Create a Shipment.

How do I inspect the BORD512 file?

Use the setup action Generate Test File to download a sample file without transmitting. For an existing shipment, use Download BORD512 on the label list → BORD512 Format.

Is there shipment tracking?

No. Rhenus does not offer online tracking for end customers. The generated parcel number is used for internal reference; shipment status is coordinated directly with Rhenus.
