Settings & Hardware
You reach the settings via the gear icon in the footer. If they are protected by a Settings PIN, enter the 4-digit PIN first.
Most values are filled automatically during QR pairing – here you review or complete them and set up the connected hardware. Einstellungen speichern at the bottom saves.
The device app runs in German
The client's interface is German. The labels below are quoted as they appear on the device, with the English meaning next to them.
Business Central connection (Business Central Verbindung)
At the top, QR-Code scannen and QR-Code aus Bild laden adopt all connection data at once.
| Field on the device | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Mandanten-ID | Microsoft Entra tenant, from the QR code |
| Anmeldemodus | Sign-in mode: Gerät + Ausweis (PIN) or Entra-Benutzer (QR) – see below |
| Umgebung | BC environment, e.g. Production |
| Unternehmens-ID | The BC company. Auswahl picks it from the available companies |
| Terminalcode | Code of this device – registered on first connection |
| Bezeichnung | Display name, shown in the app header |
| Lagerortcode | Location of this device. Auswahl picks it from BC |
BC-Verbindung testen checks reachability, determines the setup record and registers the terminal automatically if needed.
Tenant is not the company
Mandanten-ID is the Entra tenant, Unternehmens-ID the company inside Business Central. Both come from the QR code and are rarely typed by hand.
Sign-in mode
| Mode | How people sign in |
|---|---|
| Gerät + Ausweis (PIN) | The device signs in once with the device account; staff then use badge and PIN. Windows and Android. |
| Entra-Benutzer (QR) | Personal Microsoft sign-in per employee, e.g. by QR badge. Android only – Windows always uses Gerät + Ausweis. |
Under Geräteanmeldung (Microsoft Entra) the device is signed in once per terminal: Gerät anmelden starts the Microsoft sign-in, after which it shows Angemeldet als …. Gerät abmelden releases it again.
The device sign-in carries the licence
Without a signed-in device account, nobody can sign in with badge and PIN. See Licensing & Modules.
Scale (Waage (TCP/IP))
For weight capture in goods issue and item weighing:
| Field on the device | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Host / IP | – | Address of the scale on the network |
| Port | – | TCP port of the scale |
| Befehl | W |
Query command (W on many industrial scales) |
Waagenverbindung testen opens a connection and reads a weight. Common TCP/IP scales are supported (e.g. Kern, Mettler-Toledo).
Printing (Druck)
The print settings belong to the terminal in Business Central. The client adopts them at startup – unless this box is ticked:
| Field on the device | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Druckereinstellungen des BC-Terminals lokal überschreiben | This device uses the values entered below instead of those from the terminal card |
Without the tick, the fields below are disabled and show what is configured in BC.
Label printer (ZPL-Drucker (Thermoetikett))
| Field on the device | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| IP-Adresse | – | Address of the Zebra printer (from the QR code) |
| Port | 9100 | TCP port |
ZPL-Verbindung testen sends a test print.
Document printer (PDF-Drucker (A4 / Lieferschein))
Windows printer for A4 documents – Auswahl lists the installed printers. Windows only.
Automatic printing (Automatischer Druck)
| Switch | Effect |
|---|---|
| Versandetikett nach dem Buchen automatisch drucken | Shipping label right after posting the shipment |
| Lieferschein nach dem Buchen automatisch drucken | Delivery note on the A4 printer, to go into the parcel |
ZPL or PDF
Shipping labels go to the thermal printer as ZPL; delivery notes and PDF labels go to the Windows printer. Item and bin label printing is ZPL only.
Which delivery note is printed
That is decided by the BC report selections, not by the app: search → Report Selections – Sales → usage Shipment.
Barcode scanner (Barcode-Scanner)
| Scannertyp | Suitable for | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Tastatur | Windows packing station with USB scanner | The scanner "types" the code, terminated with Enter |
| DataWedge | Zebra Android devices (TC/ET series) | Intent-based, intent action configurable |
| Kamera | Devices without a hardware scanner | Scan through the device camera |
On Zebra devices, enter the DataWedge-Intent-Action (nur Zebra) if the MDM profile prescribes one. That makes the hardware trigger work reliably.
Diagnostics
The settings offer test buttons for the BC connection, the scale and the ZPL printer. Use them after every pairing and every hardware change – so a fault shows up before it shows up in daily work.
