Settings & Hardware
You reach the settings via the gear icon in the footer. If they are protected by a Settings PIN, enter the 4-digit PIN first.
Most values are filled automatically during QR pairing – here you review or complete them and set up the connected hardware.
Connection to Business Central
| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Tenant ID | Azure AD tenant (from QR) |
| Client ID | Entra app registration (from QR/Setup) |
| Client Secret | Only for Windows background operation; entered masked |
| Environment | BC environment (e.g. Production) |
| Company ID | Company – selectable via Lookup from BC |
Via Test connection, the app checks reachability, determines the setup identifier and registers the terminal automatically if required.
Terminal
| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Terminal Code | Code of this device (from QR) – registered on first connection |
| Terminal Description | Display name in the app header |
| Location Code | Location – selectable via Lookup from BC |
Scanner
| Scanner Type | Suitable for | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Keyboard (Keyboard Wedge) | Windows packing station with USB scanner | Scanner "types" the code, terminated with Enter |
| DataWedge | Zebra Android devices (TC/ET series) | Intent-based; intent action configurable |
| Camera | Devices without a hardware scanner | On-screen scan via the device camera |
Zebra DataWedge
On Zebra devices, select DataWedge and – if specified by the MDM profile – enter the DataWedge Intent Action. This ensures hardware triggers are reliably detected.
Scale (TCP/IP)
For weight capture in Goods Issue and Item Weighing:
| Setting | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Scale Host | – | IP address/hostname of the scale |
| Scale Port | – | TCP port of the scale |
| Scale Command | W |
Query command (e.g. W for many industrial scales) |
Via Test scale, a connection is established and a weight is read. Common TCP/IP scales (e.g. Kern, Mettler-Toledo) are supported.
Label Printer (ZPL)
| Setting | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| ZPL Printer IP | – | IP address of the Zebra printer (from QR) |
| ZPL Printer Port | 9100 | TCP port |
| Test ZPL | – | Sends a test to the printer |
| Auto-Print Label | – | Shipping label automatically after posting |
| Auto-Print Packing List | – | Packing list automatically after posting |
Document Printer (PDF, Windows only)
| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| PDF Printer Name | Windows printer for A4 documents (packing lists) – selectable via lookup |
| Use Local Config | Use the local printer configuration instead of the BC/terminal defaults |
ZPL vs. PDF
Shipping labels are sent directly to the thermal printer as ZPL; packing lists and PDF labels go through the Windows printer. Label printing (item/bin) uses ZPL exclusively.
Diagnostics
The settings provide test buttons for BC connection, scale and ZPL printer. Use these after every pairing or hardware change to detect errors early.
