Actions

Set License Key

Securely stores your merchantCENTRAL License Key in Business Central's encrypted IsolatedStorage.

  1. Click Set License Key
  2. An input dialog appears β€” the key is displayed masked (****)
  3. Enter the License Key you received from your sales contact
  4. Click OK

Success message

"The license key has been stored successfully."

Security note

The License Key is stored encrypted in Business Central's IsolatedStorage β€” not in the database. It cannot be read or displayed.

Delete License Key

Removes the stored License Key. This action is only available when a key is configured.

Caution

After deleting the License Key, license validation is no longer possible. All modules will be suspended after the Grace Period expires.

Validate Now

Triggers an immediate license check against the license server. Normally, the check occurs automatically every 24 hours, but this action allows you to update the status immediately.

Typical use cases:

  • After entering the License Key for the first time
  • After a license change by sales (e.g., new module activated)
  • To verify after a network issue

Detect Environment

Re-detects the current environment properties (Tenant ID, Environment Name, Production/Sandbox). Use this action after an environment migration or rename.

Test Connection

Checks connectivity to the merchantCENTRAL license server. The test sends a simple health request and displays the result.

Possible results:

Result Meaning
"Connection to the license service was successful." Everything is fine
"Could not connect to the license service." Check URL, check network β†’ see Troubleshooting
"License service returned HTTP status ..." Server reachable but error β†’ contact support

Start Free Demo

Opens the Demo Registration Wizard. This action is only visible when no License Key is configured yet.
