Shopware 6 Data Takeover

One-time takeover of the content of a shop that was live before Business Central: products, assignments, images, product documents, cross-selling, vouchers, customers, the order history and the order states a predecessor integration left open in the shop. The steps run once per shop in the order listed. A shop that starts fresh does not need this page.

Opening the page

  • Via Search: Shopware 6 Data Takeover
  • Via the setup → Data Takeover, or by clicking the field Data Takeover (progress of the steps, counted per shop)
  • Via the marketplace card of Shopware 6 → Data Takeover
  • At the end of the setup wizard when This shop already contains products and orders is set
  • From the central data takeover with Open

Scope

Field Description
Shop Filter Shop the steps run for. Empty = all enabled shops. Every prompt names the scope.
Orders Imported From Order date filter of the shop, i.e. the day from which the current integration imports orders. The order state correction uses it as the boundary to the old stock. It is maintained in the shop list.

Steps

Each step resolves the shop IDs against what an earlier step fetched. The column Prerequisite names what has to have run before.

No. Step What it does Prerequisite
0 Master Data Opens the Master Data Cockpit, filtered to Shopware 6 (tax rates, currencies, categories, tags, properties, sales channels). Imports nothing itself. None
1 All Products Downloads all shop products and updates the item data (title, META, SEO, status; prices come from merchantCENTRAL). Existing variant containers are taken over as variant masters and their children assigned. A second prompt decides whether the long descriptions are overwritten (default: No). Master Data
2 Assignments Takes over category, tag, visibility and property assignments and replaces the local assignments. Master Data, All Products
3 Images Takes over the product galleries: every shop picture is filed on the item, the file fetched as far as the setup allows. Nothing is deleted; pictures Business Central already has are deselected for this shop. Order and cover come from the shop. All Products
4 Product Documents Takes over the product documents the shop already publishes. Documents Business Central already has are deselected for this shop. All Products
5 Cross-Selling Takes over accessory and alternative item links and replaces the local list per product. Groups with other names are reported in the activity log. All Products
6 Promotions Takes over the shop vouchers as managed in the shop: they are shown but never written back or deactivated. Master Data
7 Customers Imports the shop customers. Without this step the order import creates them one by one. None
8 Historical Orders Reads the whole order history into the marketplace orders (sales figures), imports missing ones and refreshes the status of those already imported. Creates no sales orders. Customers
9 Order States in the Shop Completes orders a predecessor integration left open, based on the documents posted in Business Central. Writes to the live shop. Historical Orders

Status

Status Meaning
Not started The step never ran without errors for the scope. Normal state of a new shop.
Done Ran without errors; no step it depends on has run since.
Outdated A step it depends on ran afterwards. The result no longer reflects the shop. Highlighted.
Not applicable Master Data (runs in the cockpit) – or any step when read permission on the takeover log is missing.

Last Run is always the last successful run: an error takes the log entry back with it. A preview of Order States in the Shop does not count. Without a shop filter a step is only Done once it has run for every enabled shop; Last Run then shows the oldest run.

Actions

Action Description
Run (or a click on the step) Runs the selected step for the scope after a prompt.
Run in Background Queues the step as a one-time job queue entry. It starts within a minute and takes the safe answer to every question (long descriptions stay unchanged). Not possible for Master Data, Product Documents, Historical Orders and Order States in the Shop.
Run All Recommended Runs All Products, Assignments, Images, Product Documents, Cross-Selling, Promotions, Customers and Historical Orders one after the other. Every step asks on its own; if one is declined, the run stops. Master Data and Order States in the Shop are not part of it.
Refresh Reloads steps and scope.
Maintenance → Clean Up Variant Containers Removes leftover variant container items without a matching BC item.
Maintenance → Shops Opens the shop list with the repairs per shop.
Master Data Cockpit / Dashboard / All Channels / Activity Log Open the master data cockpit, the dashboard, the central data takeover and the activity log.

Correcting the order states in the shop

The dialog asks for Business Central Documents Since and Only Orders Before; the latter is prefilled with Orders Imported From. Preview Only is switched on. Only after switching it off and a further prompt does the run change the states in the shop. The shop's Flow Builder is switched off for these requests, no customer is notified. The result message counts completed orders, deliveries marked as shipped and orders without a document, and names examples.

Procedure

  1. Run the setup wizard.
  2. Sync Master Data in the cockpit and check the mappings.
  3. Run All Recommended, or steps 1–8 one by one.
  4. Check the activity log.
  5. Only with a predecessor integration: Order States in the Shop first as a preview, then for real.
