Kaufland Product Safety Contacts

The EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) requires a manufacturer for every product and, if the manufacturer is not based in the EU, an EU responsible person. Kaufland excludes offers without these contacts from selling. The Kaufland connector sends them per EAN from the central product safety data of merchantCENTRAL; this page shows what was sent and what was not.

Where the Contacts Come From

You maintain the contacts once, centrally – with the merchantCENTRAL compliance app (Product Safety) as economic operators on the item. The connector reads them for every Kaufland product with an item and sends them to Kaufland:

  • per EAN, not per manufacturer. At Kaufland, a contact per EAN takes precedence over a rule per manufacturer, and it is also correct when the economic operators of an item differ from its brand.
  • only what has changed. The connector remembers what Kaufland last accepted and sends a contact again only when it changes or the last attempt failed.
  • only its own contacts. What you entered in the Kaufland Seller Portal stays untouched.

If the central product safety data no longer reports a manufacturer or an EU responsible person for an item, the connector deletes the contact of that type at Kaufland – but only one it sent itself.

EU Responsible Person

Kaufland only accepts a responsible person with an address in the EU. If the economic operator entered is based outside the EU, the connector does not send it, and Last Error gives the reason.

EAN EAN for which the contact is stored at Kaufland.
Contact Type Manufacturer or EU Responsible Person.
Contact Name Name of the economic operator that was sent.
Item No. Item the contact comes from.
Last Sent When Kaufland last accepted the contact.
Last Error Why the last attempt failed. The next run tries again.

The page is read-only; a contact is changed in the central product safety data.

Actions

Action Description
Send Product Safety Contacts Sends the manufacturer and EU responsible person of all Kaufland products to Kaufland, as far as merchantCENTRAL maintains them centrally. Only changed contacts go out.

For individual products, the same action is available in the Kaufland Products list: it sends the contacts of the selected products. The scheduled task SYNC-GPSR sends them automatically once a day; it is created switched off.

Common Errors

Message Cause and solution
Kaufland does not know EAN … in your assortment yet. There is no offer for the EAN yet. The contact goes out again as soon as the offer exists.
No manufacturer for Kaufland. Neither the central data nor the Seller Portal names a manufacturer – otherwise Kaufland excludes the offer from selling. Maintain the manufacturer centrally (Compliance) or in the Seller Portal.
The address of … has no house number Kaufland can read. Kaufland requires the house number separately. Write it after the street in the address, e.g. “Main Street 12”.

Safety Details in the Product Data

Besides the contacts, the following go out with the product data from the same central data:

ce_certificate The public address of every Declaration of Conformity.

Kaufland fetches the files itself via the address. A value already set by an attribute mapping is not overwritten; without central data, what is in the Seller Portal stays at Kaufland.
