EAN Lookup

Searches the Kaufland catalog for an EAN and shows the answer right away.

Kaufland maintains exactly one product page per EAN, to which all sellers attach their offers. The lookup therefore answers the decisive question before listing:

  • Kaufland knows the EAN – a product page already exists. An offer is enough; category and Kaufland product ID are already determined.
  • Kaufland does not know the EAN – the product data must be uploaded first; only then can an offer be created.

The lookup itself creates nothing. An item only gets to Kaufland via Add Item to Kaufland – as a real Business Central item and the same way as Add to Marketplace on the item card.

Opening the Page

  • Products list → Action Lookup EAN: EAN and storefront of the selected line are prefilled, and the lookup runs immediately.
  • Kaufland Offers or Kaufland Offer → Product Data & Description, as long as no item is listed under the EAN yet.

Fields

Field Description
EAN EAN/GTIN to search for. The lookup starts as soon as the EAN is entered. An EAN with characters other than digits is not sent to Kaufland; Result then says what needs to be corrected.
Storefront Kaufland storefront whose catalog is searched (suggestion: the default storefront from the Kaufland Setup). Add Item to Kaufland lists the item on this storefront's sales channel.

Field Description
Result What the lookup found and what that means for listing. If Kaufland cannot be reached (e.g., missing credentials), the reason is shown here.
Title, Manufacturer, Category Title, manufacturer, and category of the Kaufland product page. The category is shown with its path if the category tree has been imported.
Kaufland Product ID ID of the product page. Taken over into the marketplace item when the item is added.
Is Valid Whether Kaufland flags the product as valid.
Product Page Link to the product page on Kaufland.
Image Primary image of the product page. It is only loaded from a Kaufland address via HTTPS; otherwise, the lookup shows only the link.

Business Central

Field Description
Item No. Item sold under the EAN. The item that carries the EAN as its GTIN or as a barcode item reference is suggested; another item can be selected.
Item Match How the item's GTIN relates to the EAN. Kaufland always lists an item under its GTIN.
Listed on Kaufland Whether a Kaufland marketplace item already exists for the EAN or the item.

Actions

Action Description
Search Searches for the EAN again.
Add Item to Kaufland Adds the item to the storefront's sales channel via the merchantCENTRAL hub – like Add to Marketplace. The price comes from the channel's sales price list; Kaufland product ID and category are taken over, title, manufacturer, and image only if they are still empty. Prerequisites: The storefront is enabled and the item's GTIN is the EAN searched for. If the item has no GTIN yet, the EAN is entered as its GTIN after confirmation. If it has a different GTIN, the action is refused – otherwise Kaufland would sell it on the product page of that other GTIN.
Open Kaufland Product Opens the Kaufland Product card of the marketplace item (product data, description, images, and offers).
Show on Kaufland Opens the product page on Kaufland in the browser.
