Setup Wizard

Three steps. The wizard asks for no credentials and establishes no connection — Microsoft's Shopify Connector has done both before this setup makes any sense.

Open the wizard

  • From assisted setup: Set up merchantCENTRAL Channel Shopify in the group AD merchantCENTRAL - Setup
  • From the Shopify Setup: action Setup Wizard
  • From the hub marketplace card: action Setup Wizard

The wizard first checks that the merchantCENTRAL platform is set up and leads there if not. Without the hub the channel has nowhere to register.

Step 1 — Welcome

Shows what changes, and under Connected Shops how many shops the Microsoft Shopify Connector has enabled. If it shows nothing, the prerequisite is missing: connect a shop in Microsoft's connector first.

Step 2 — Shops

Field Effect
Switch merchantCENTRAL on for all connected shops Switches merchantCENTRAL on for every connected shop when the wizard finishes. Off, you decide per shop on the Shop Card.
Send merchantCENTRAL stock Sets the merchantCENTRAL stock calculation on the default location of every shop switched on. You confirm each shop.

Switching merchantCENTRAL on changes what a shop sends: descriptions, SEO fields and prices then come from merchantCENTRAL, and the Shopify vendor shows the brand instead of the purchase vendor. A shop left off behaves exactly as before.

No stock location, no stock

A shop only sends merchantCENTRAL availability once exactly one location carries the merchantCENTRAL stock calculation. Shopify adds up the quantities of all locations — two locations would double the quantity. Where a shop has no single default location, the location list opens and you pick one. Details: Stock and Allocation.

Step 3 — Ready

Finish registers the channel with the hub and creates the scheduled runs for stock and prices. The runs are created on hold, so nothing starts sending on its own. The setup is saved at this point; only then does the wizard ask about stock, shop by shop.

Afterwards

  1. On the Shopify Setup or the hub marketplace card, start a demo or enter the licence and enable the channel.
  2. On the Shop Card, pick a Central Price List if prices should come from the Price Engine.
  3. Run Check Setup.
  4. Release the scheduled runs once the first sync looks right.
