Dashboard

The Price Engine dashboard answers two questions: how much pricing work is still ahead? and what did the engine do today? The upper row shows the work — purchase and sales prices separately —, the lower row how it ended and whether the engine runs at all. The runs you used to start from the setup card start here.

Every tile, segment and row is clickable and opens exactly the records it counted.

How to get there: In the merchantCENTRAL Setup under Extensions, click Price Engine — as with Jarltech or Trading, the click opens the dashboard (Set Up next to it still opens the settings). Also via Tell me Price Engine Dashboard, the Dashboard action on the setup card and in the Price Cockpit.

The tiles: what is still ahead

Tile	Meaning	Click opens
Items waiting	Items in the recalculation queue. The sub line says whether it moves: skipped after repeated errors, waiting since yesterday or all queued today	Queue, filtered to what the sub line names
Purchase prices pending	Items for which the next run writes purchase price lines — one line per offering vendor. Reads 0 while Write Purchase Price Lists is off	Queue, only the items the next run takes on
Sales prices pending	Items waiting × enabled sales channels — that many sales prices the next run calculates	Queue, only the items the next run takes on
Calculated today	Prices published today, with the last seven days as a trend. The sub line names the changes above 10 %	Log, filtered to today

Items skipped after three failed attempts count as waiting but not as pending: no run picks them up until somebody clears the error.

The one sub line that matters

If Items waiting reads waiting since yesterday, the queue is not slow, it has stopped. It is processed several times a day — an item that survived a day survived every run since. The cause is almost always on the Engine card: Scheduled runs.

The cards: what happened

Calculations today

One bar showing how every calculation of the day ended: Published, Waiting for approval, Kept unchanged (fixed price or change below the hysteresis), No offer, Rejected, Error. Each segment opens the matching log entries. If calculations ended in an error, the footnote says the items stay in the queue with their error text.

Purchase prices

Line	Meaning
Writing purchase price lists	The switch from the setup — Off is marked yellow because no purchase line is written then
Purchase price lines in force	Open purchase price lines on the engine's `MC-*` lists; click opens them
Vendor price lists	How many vendors have a purchase list of their own; click opens the purchase price lists
Offers withdrawn after	The configured Stale Offer Days
Price list activation	Normal or Suspended – migration mode: the engine writes, but Business Central keeps using the previous prices

Sales channels

One row per enabled price list with the price lines currently in force (quantity tiers count). A channel with 0 rows is a channel the engine has never reached — the first answer to "why is the shop empty?". The click opens the Price Cockpit right on that channel.

Engine

Scheduled runs	Whether the job queue entry for the queue exists and runs (Every 60 min), is missing, on hold or in error. Click opens the entries
Reconcile pass	The same for the daily purchase reconcile (`RECONCILE`) — Create Job Queue Entries on the setup card creates both
Last run	When the queue last ran and how many items it processed
Next run	The next scheduled start
Waiting for approval	Price changes parked as drafts in the approval workbench; click opens it
Fixed prices	Active price fixes; click opens the list

Notices at the top of the page

Two notices appear only when they apply:

Why no prices are calculated — the first gate the engine currently fails: master switch off, no license, no sales channel or missing job queue entries. The queue keeps filling meanwhile.
Migration mode — price list activation is suspended. Left on by accident, it looks as if the engine had stopped working.

Actions

Action	Effect
Process Queue	After a confirmation, calculates all waiting items now: write purchase lines, close withdrawn offers, sales price per enabled channel — the same run the job queue entry starts on its schedule
Reconcile Purchase Prices	Checks every active purchase line of the engine and closes the lines whose offer no longer exists
Queue All Offered Items	Puts every item with a supplier offer into the queue — after changed conditions, margins or rounding rules, which queue no item on their own

Under Navigate you find the Price Cockpit, the queue, price approvals, the calculation log, price fixes and the simulation. The dashboard deliberately offers no settings — those live on the setup card.

The daily routine

Notice at the top? Fix that first — everything else waits for it.
Read Items waiting, above all its sub line. All queued today or nothing waiting means the engine is in rhythm.
Rejected today — the log names the limit that struck on every entry.
Waiting for approval — decide in the approval workbench; until then the shop sells at the old price.
Skim Sales channels: a channel with strikingly few lines is a channel whose rules reject.

When a tile never returns to zero

Tile stays high	Likely cause

Items waiting with skipped after repeated errors	Items parked after three failed attempts — read the error in the queue, fix the cause, Retry Failed
Rejected today	A safety limit is too tight — usually the minimum markup or the maximum change
Waiting for approval	The price list's approval threshold is too tight, or nobody decides
Calculated today stays 0 with a full queue	Engine off, unlicensed or without a channel — the notice at the top says which
