Create FBA Inbound Plan

In this dialog, you create an inbound plan at Amazon. The goods for it come from a transfer order from your warehouse to the FBA location: what it still has to ship, you send to Amazon's fulfillment centers. After OK, the Amazon FBA Inbound Plan card opens, where you continue with the plan.

Opening the Page

  • Via the transfer order → Actions → Amazon FBA → Create FBA Inbound Plan; the transfer order no. is then already filled in.
  • Via the Amazon FBA Inbound Plans list → Create Inbound Plan
  • Via the Amazon Dashboard → Create FBA Inbound Plan

FBA only

The dialog only opens if Enable FBA is turned on in the Amazon Settings. The Amazon FBA group appears on a transfer order only then, and only if its transfer-from or transfer-to location is the FBA location from the Amazon Settings.

Fields

Field Description
Transfer Order No. Transfer order from your warehouse to the FBA location that carries the goods. The lookup shows the transfer orders to the FBA Location Code from the Amazon Settings.
Marketplace Amazon marketplace you send the goods for; prefilled with the home marketplace. Its SKUs determine which items can go along.
Plan Name Name of the plan in Seller Central. Leave it empty to use the number of the transfer order and today's date.

OK creates the plan, Cancel closes the dialog without a plan.

What Happens When You Create the Plan

  1. Check: The transfer order must go to the FBA location, must not have an inbound plan yet (a cancelled one does not count) and needs item lines with a remaining quantity. An FBA Location Code must be set up.
  2. Plan lines: One line is created per SKU from the remaining quantity of the transfer lines; lines of the same SKU are added up. If a line is in the unit of measure of a pack that has a SKU of its own on the marketplace, it goes under the SKU of the pack and counts packs; otherwise it goes under the SKU of the Amazon item and counts units of the base unit of measure. If an item has no SKU on the marketplace, the dialog stops – assign one in the Amazon Items list first.
  3. Prep and labels: The connector queries Amazon's prep details for each SKU and fills in the prep and label owner (see Items (Subpage)).
  4. Ship-from address: Amazon receives the address of the location the goods leave from (Transfer-from Code of the transfer order); if the location has no address, the one from the Company Information. Required are a name (the contact, otherwise the name), address, city, post code, a country with an ISO code and a phone number. If something is missing, a message names the field and takes you to the location card.
  5. Plan at Amazon: The connector creates the plan at Amazon and waits up to two minutes for the result. Then the Amazon FBA Inbound Plan card opens, with the plan in the Plan Created step. If Amazon isn't done yet, it stays in the Draft step; then choose Refresh Status after a minute. If Amazon refuses the plan, an error message names Amazon's reasons; the plan stays in the Draft step with the text in the Last Error field in the Amazon FBA Inbound Plans list.

Tips

First the transfer order, then the plan

Enter everything that is to go to Amazon on the transfer order before you create the plan – the plan takes over the remaining quantities when it is created. For a changed transfer order, cancel the plan (Cancel Plan on the card) and create a new one.

One plan per transfer order

A transfer order carries exactly one active inbound plan. If Amazon splits the plan across several fulfillment centers, several shipments are created; each posts its transfer shipment separately from the same transfer order.
