Amazon ASIN Search Results

Amazon ASIN Search Results shows the result of an ASIN search across several items: which ASIN Amazon found for an item, whether there were several matches, and which items remained without a match. From here, you apply the matching ASINs.

Opening the Page

  • Opens after an ASIN search: Search ASINs for Items... in the Amazon Catalog Search, Search ASINs for Selected Items in the Amazon Items list and Search ASIN for Item on the Amazon Item Card. The ASIN synchronization (job ASIN_SYNC) does not open the page; its matches are only in the queue.

Every match found is also a pending suggestion in the Amazon ASIN Search Queue. The same rules apply as for the ASIN synchronization: by manufacturer part number, only a product whose part or model number at Amazon is this number counts, and the search does not suggest an ASIN that you rejected for the item again. A match is added to the suggestions already waiting for the item. Whatever you apply here is applied via the queue; the page itself is not saved.

Fields

At the top, Summary sums up the search: Total Items, Found (Single ASIN), Multiple ASINs Found, Not Found and Errors. Below that, there is one line per item – if there are several matches, one line per ASIN.

Actions

Action Description
Apply Selected ASINs After a confirmation, applies the ASIN of the marked lines on the marketplace of the search. If an item has several matches, this is how you mark the right one.
Apply All Found After a confirmation, applies the ASIN of all items with exactly one match.
Select All Found / Deselect All Marks all lines with exactly one match, or removes all marks.
Show Found Only, Show Not Found, Show All Filters the lines.
Export to Excel Exports the lines to an Excel file.

Applying means the same as Assign ASIN in the Amazon ASIN Search Queue: the connector enters the ASIN and the product type in the Amazon item of the marketplace and creates the Amazon item if it does not exist yet. The suggestion in the queue is then Assigned, and the other open suggestions for the same item are Ignored. A progress window (Amazon - Assign ASINs) shows the progress, and the message states the number of ASINs applied. A suggestion that is no longer pending in the queue – for example because a different ASIN has already been assigned to the item – is left unchanged by the action. If the item has meanwhile got a different ASIN, the action skips it; its line is then Skipped. If the results do not belong to any marketplace, the action applies nothing and asks you to start the search again from a marketplace.

Tips

No match

If the search finds nothing for an item or the query fails, it records this only on an existing Amazon item (search status Not Found or Error); it does not create a new one for this. The next searches skip such items for seven days or one day respectively, unless you explicitly include them in the confirmation.
