Sending the Tracking Number to the Shop

After posting, the job queue (POSTSYNC, every 5 minutes) reports each posted shipment on its own to the delivery of the shop order – as what it is –, with all tracking numbers of the shipment, including those of further parcels from the shipment tracking. Tracking numbers the shop order already has, for example from an earlier partial delivery, stay. A posting preview reports nothing.

  • Partial shipment: If something is still left to ship on the sales order afterwards – a line from your own warehouse or a drop shipment line whose purchase order has not been received yet –, the delivery in the shop is set to Shipped (partially). The shop order stays open and is not marked as paid. Each further partial shipment only adds its tracking numbers.
  • Last shipment: If the shipment ships the rest of the order, the delivery in the shop is set to Shipped. Only then is the shop order completed and – with Auto Payment Status on Ship – marked as paid.

A mixed order from your own warehouse and drop shipment is therefore completed only once both parts are delivered. The shipment of a drop shipment, created when the receipt of the purchase order is posted, is reported by the job queue the same way. Whether the order is shipped completely is checked when the job sends.

The shop takes the carrier and the tracking link from the shipping method of the delivery; merchantCENTRAL sends only the tracking numbers. If the shop does not accept the tracking numbers or the status, merchantCENTRAL sends no status; the entry stays in the queue with the reason and is retried on the next run. With Suppress Status Change on Shipping, the job queue reports no shipment.

merchantCENTRAL's Send Shipment Confirmation also sends the tracking numbers of a posted shipment to the delivery of the shop order – the action is in the Marketplace group of the posted sales shipment and is the same for every marketplace. Useful when the tracking number was recorded after posting. The customer then sees it in the shop account.

Shipments on which merchantCENTRAL has not recorded a marketplace do not show this action; there, Send Shipment Confirmation to Shopware 6 does the same.
